Seychelles, a place that doesn't care how time flies

Among the many tourist attractions, the Seychelles islands are a desirable place to dream. It is located in the Indian Ocean of East Africa, across the sea from Mauritius. All year round, the island has a balanced temperature, beautiful scenery, lush vegetation and blue sea as a fairyland.

Since the 16th century, the Seychelles has been occupied alternately by Portugal, France and Britain. So this is a country of mixed-race people, and you can see people of all colors walking the seychelles streets. You don't feel the pressure of life here, you can easily find a beach, or recline under the coconut trees, bathing in the cool sea breeze, reading a book and enjoying the quiet time by yourself.

When you come to Seychelles, the customs staff will stamp your passport with a stamp like a butt. This image comes from Seychelles' specialty coco de mer, which is a very popular local food.

As the fruit of a palm plant, the coco de mer is by far the heaviest seed in the world. In the Vallee de Mai in the center of Praslin Island, Seychelles, there are more than 7,000 coco de mer trees growing. These tree species grow very slowly, and it takes a hundred years to grow. The fruit sea coconut matures only once every 8 years, and each weighs 15-30 kg.

In the 18th century, the British discovered the coco de mer in Vallee de Mai. Its appearance is very similar to the sex organs of men and women, coupled with the heavenly beauty of Seychelles. The British claim that this is the original site of the Garden of Eden in the Bible, and the coco de mer is the forbidden fruit eaten by Adam and Eve. For a while, it attracted many London aristocrats to visit for sightseeing.

Two years ago, I saw the coco de mer at a collection market in Beijing and asked the owner if it was not for sale. In the collection circle, speculation is the biggest motivation, many collectors not only for the purpose of hobby, but also value the appreciation of the collection space. Seychelles coconuts are a source of investment because of their slow growth and export restrictions.

As tourists, they can buy and take home coco de mer, each with an official license. Prices range from a few thousand yuan, and the better, bigger and more structured the more expensive. Because it is unique to the Seychelles, it is not unusual for many people to buy it back as an investment and sell it for two or three times the price.

kuka(babassu palm), who was a smash hit in the collection market two years ago, is the same palm plant fruit as the coco de mer in Seychelles.

At that time, collectors confused these two fruits, thinking that kuka was made from coco de mer shell, which made the value of coco de mer skyrocket.

In fact, there is a big difference between them. kuka

is the fruit of the carnauba tree with hard texture and high oiliness. The pulp can be used for cooking, fuel and lubrication, and the shell can be used to make bracelets or rosary. However, the shell wall of the sea coconut is thin, and the beads cannot be ground.

People who like bracelets have a unique love for Kuka. After collocation with a variety of beads, not only its appearance has risen, but its value may also soar with accessories. Their value does not only depend on the material. Exquisite workmanship and matching design are also the main factors affecting the price.

The predecessor of the bracelet traced back to the Qing Dynasty. Due to the religious atmosphere, the emperor’s harem concubines all had the habit of holding rosary beads. This kind of rosary was called: Qing Palace Eighteen Sons. In the Qing Dynasty, it was more of a kind The decorations that were popular among bannermen were usually worn on their hands as bracelets. Even the court beads worn by the civil and military officials at that time were designed based on Buddhist prayer beads. It is reflected in traditional Chinese TV dramas.

So far, people have improved their bracelets on the traditional form, put their favorite beads together, and hold them on their wrists for rubing and rotating at any time.

For the fast-paced modern life, rubing and rotating are not only a love of objects, but also a way to reduce stress. According to scientific research, human beings will unconsciously pick up or squeeze something with their hands when facing mental stress or excessive stress.

The reason for this phenomenon is that the brain secretes a substance called endorphins when the body is stimulated. This peptide has a morphine-like effect, can relieve pain, regulate body temperature, cardiovascular and respiratory functions, and make people feel euphoric. When people squeeze something or play with beads in their hands for a long time, their body will reach a certain limit, such as the limit of palm strength, the limit of finger movement, and so on. At this time, the brain will secrete endorphins, which makes us feel calm and happy.

Of course, the way to produce endorphins is not just the limit of exercise. The production of endorphins can be promoted by basking in the sun, listening to soothing music, or eating spicy food.

Just imagine, on the sunny Seychelles seaside, listening to slow light music, reading in the sea breeze, enjoying the comfort of being in a paradise on earth, walking in time, life is wonderful!
