For those who like baking, there is no shortage of baking molds at home. What kind of mold is safe and easy to use? What brand of mold is more beautiful? It is a factor that we will consider when purchasing.

Copper baking mold is the perfect baking utensil,Its advantages are fast heat conduction, uniform heat, not easy to happen partial burnout.But it is very troublesome to maintainits,  It must be maintained with butter every time it is used up. and it can easily turn toxic verdigris if you don't store it properly.

If metal molds are so cumbersome, what are the most popular baking molds today? That must be the silicone mold!Many people have a concern about silicone material: Is it safe? I can tell you very responsibly that not all silicone molds can be used in baking! Most of the silicone molds on the market are of poor quality and the materials do not meet food-grade safety standards. When placed in an oven above 100°C, the toxic substances will precipitate out.

Therefore, we must choose products with safety certification, brand reputation and technical guarantee, never buy poor quality molds.

So what kind of silicone can be used for making food? According to the  different silicone materials, we summarize it into three categories:


The first category is industrial-grade silica gel, which is mostly used to make silica gel pipelines, adhesives and other industrial uses. It is toxic and cannot be touched with food.

The second type is ordinary silica gel, which can be used to make our common mobile phone cases, watch straps, rain boots, etc. It is non-toxic but has a peculiar smell. It can touch the skin but not food.

The third category is medical food-grade silicone, also called platinum silicone, which is cured by platinum at high temperature and is non-toxic and odorless.




so for baking silicone molds, the material must be platinum silicone,We recommend 2 brands:

1. Use eggs to make batter

3. Put them in the preheated oven and wait.

Heavy butter cakes: you don’t need to apply butter before baking. Such cakes include: Madeleine, Fernance, Pound Cake/Butter Cake, Waffles, etc.


Sponge cakes: Before baking, you can apply a thin layer of butter on the inner wall of the mold, which can make it as convenient as baking heavy butter cakes. For example: Chiffon cake, sponge cake, angel cake, etc.
If you only bake sponge cakes that do not contain butter, you can apply butter every 4-5 times. If you have more perfect requirements for demoulding, it is recommended that no matter what kind of cake you make, apply a thin layer of butter before each use!
After the mold is out of the oven, please heat it out within five minutes. After a long time, the hot cake will become cold, and the water vapor will concentrate on the top of the mold and cause the cake to stick. It is recommended that the edge of the mold can be pulled for hot demoulding two minutes after the oven is out.


The quality of LéKué mainly reflects:

1.High-safety platinum silicone material. 

At present, the only baking brands using this material are Le Kui from Spain and Celie from Italy. It is said that platinum silica gel has a three-day shelf life after it is produced, and it must be used within three days, otherwise it will be discarded. Therefore, many manufacturers are unwilling to use this material, However, for baking molds in a high-temperature working environment, platinum silica gel has stronger molecular stability and temperature resistance, and will not precipitate harmful substances. This is the most important thing!
